Kangana Ranaut has sparked marriage rumours after she was recently spotted wearing a mangalsutra. Naturally, videos of the actress quickly went viral on social media, with fans wondering if she had secretly tied the knot.
In the videos circulating online, Kangana was seen dressed in a simple pink salwar suit. What caught everyone's attention was the mangalsutra around her neck. She was also seen sporting a bindi and sunglasses while being surrounded by security personnel.
However, it turns out that the rumours about Kangana's marriage are false. The video is reportedly from the sets of the actress's upcoming film Queen 2, the sequel to her 2014 hit Queen. The actress has apparently started shooting for the Vikas Bahl directorial, which is reportedly titled Queen Forever.
In the 2014 drama, Kangana's character Rani embarks on a solo honeymoon after her fiancé calls off their wedding. The film showcased her emotional growth and journey of self-discovery as she travelled across Europe and formed new friendships along the way. The movie went on to become a massive success.
Mid-day had earlier reported that Ranaut and filmmaker Vikas Bahl were set to take Queen 2 on floors by the end of April.
So, where will Rani take audiences this time around? According to reports, the sequel will not directly continue the events of the original film but will carry forward its themes of self-discovery and self-reliance.
A source revealed, "In Queen 2, Kangana's Rani will be a city girl unlike the small-town girl in the original. She will be smart, strong, and quirky, but a plot point will send her on a journey of self-discovery. It will show how she conquers life through her individuality, self-realisation, and courage. While the first film saw her travelling alone to Paris and Amsterdam, this journey will take her across cities in India."
Apart from Ranaut, no familiar faces from the original film are expected to return. The director has reportedly roped in several theatre actors for supporting roles in the sequel.
The source further added, "The unit will begin shooting in a Mumbai studio, where sets depicting a North Indian city and the protagonist's home will be constructed. After the Mumbai schedule, the team will move to other metro cities. The film is expected to be completed in a start-to-finish schedule spanning three months."
