Deepika Padukone has a lot on her plate right now. The actress recently announced that she is expecting her second child with actor Ranveer Singh. Additionally, Deepika is currently filming for Shah Rukh Khan's King in South Africa, and also has Atlee's Raaka, featuring Allu Arjun on the cards. Amid her busy slate, sources have now confirmed that Deepika will be missing the Met Gala 2026 this year.
As per reports, sources have clarified that Deepika Padukone will not be attending the Met Gala 2026. According to the source, "Her priority has always been and continues to be films. With King slated to release at the end of this year and Raaka scheduled to release next year, her priority at the moment is to complete the shoot for these two films."
Her fans across the globe will miss the actress serving some iconic looks this year; however, with two of the biggest films of the country in production right now, Deepika is busy fulfilling her professional commitments.
A few days ago, reports stated that Deepika plays a significant role in the film Raaka, and has already wrapped the shooting sequences, which reportedly include a grand entrance and a major action sequence alongside Allu Arjun.
Meanwhile, glimpses of Deepika Padukone with Shah Rukh Khan from the sets of King leaked last week, which have further amplified anticipation among fans.
The actor also made news a few weeks ago when she announced her second pregnancy with Ranveer Singh by sharing a sweet picture of her first child, daughter Dua, holding a positive pregnancy test.
Deepika has attended the Met Gala three times, specifically in 2017, 2018 and 2019. For her debut at the event, she wore a Tommy Hilfiger slip dress, followed by a red Prabal Gurung gown and a pink Zac Posen gown.
The Met Gala 2026 is set for Monday, May 4, and is expected to be star-studded as ever. This year's lineup includes Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Venus Williams, with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez Bezos serving as lead sponsors. While Anna Wintour serves as an official co-chair, leading the event.
