Mouni Roy has addressed one of the most persistent rumours about her personal life. In a candid interview, the actress revealed that speculation about her sexual orientation was among the biggest rumours she had heard about herself. She also reflected on her separation from Suraj Nambiar and spoke about the unwavering support she received from her friends.
During a conversation with Monika Sharma on her YouTube channel, Mouni was asked about the biggest rumour she had heard about herself in Bollywood. Without hesitation, she replied, "Oh, that I am gay." Reflecting on the difficult period following her separation, Mouni said she felt fortunate to have a strong support system. "I feel very lucky that I have always had friends and family who have stood by me like a rock," she said.
Mouni particularly credited her female friends for helping her navigate challenging times. "I have always had great girlfriends to support me. They have been there through my good, bad, and ugly phases. It is very important to have women like that in your life - the ones who uplift you. My girlfriends are the best," she shared.
Describing her own journey, she added, "My life has been a roller-coaster ride. There have been struggles, good days, and bad days. Sometimes you are very happy, and at other times very sad. It is all part and parcel of life."
The actress was in the news over her divorce from husband Suraj Nambiar. On May 14, they took to their respective Instagram handles and shared a joint post confirming they were parting ways. After announcing their separation, Mouni was seen at the Cannes Film Festival, flaunting her fashionable side as she promoted her film.
The actress was recently seen in Varun Dhawan's comic caper, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. She is now gearing up for the series Ab Hoga Hisaab with Sanjay Kapoor, Shaheer Sheikh, Nimrat Kaur Ahluwalia, and Avinash Mishra. Apart from this, she also has Madhur Bhandarkar's The Wives, which also features Shalini Passi. The film is based on the internal struggles of celebrity wives. Mouni Roy is also a part of Chiranjeevi's Telugu film, Vishwambhara.
