Actor Aamir Khan is all set to tie the knot with girlfriend Gauri Spratt on July 5, and preparations for the intimate ceremony have officially begun. Paparazzi videos from outside the superstar's Pali Hill residence show the house being lit up and decorated for the celebrations, with workers racing against Mumbai's heavy monsoon showers to get everything ready ahead of the big day.
Despite the relentless rain, preparations at Aamir's residence are in full swing. Workers were seen carrying furniture, putting up decorative lights and making arrangements for the ceremony, many of them dressed in raincoats as they continued working through the downpour. The actor's sister was also spotted arriving at the residence, indicating that the wedding festivities have quietly begun.
The ceremony is expected to be an intimate affair attended only by close family members and a handful of friends, staying true to Aamir's wish to keep the celebrations low-key.
Aamir recently confirmed the wedding while attending the screening of filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani's Pritam and Pedro.
Speaking to the media, the actor revealed that July 5 is a special day for the couple and that the wedding would take place at home.
"Haan meri shaadi ho rahi hai July 5 ko aur bahut hi choti shaadi hai, ghar mein hi kar rahe hain... sirf dono families hain aur kuch khaas dost," he said. Aamir also sought blessings from fans, saying he hopes they pray for the couple's happiness as they begin this new chapter together.
This will be Aamir's third marriage. He was previously married to Reena Dutta, with whom he shares two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan. He later married filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005, and although they announced their separation in 2021, the two continue to co-parent their son, Azad Rao Khan.
Aamir and Gauri first met nearly 25 years ago before reconnecting years later. Their friendship eventually blossomed into a relationship, and the actor introduced Gauri to the media during his 60th birthday celebrations earlier this year. With the decor nearly in place and loved ones beginning to arrive, all eyes are now on the actor's intimate wedding ceremony this weekend.
