The Hindi film industry came together on Friday to bid a final farewell to veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who passed away at the age of 75 after battling cancer. Several of his friends, colleagues and industry associates arrived to pay their last respects to the actor, remembered for his memorable supporting performances in films including Welcome, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Aashiqui and Jodi No. 1.
Among those who visited Khan's residence and the cemetery were actors Rajat Bedi, Manish Wadhwa, Sulbha Arya, Shahbaz Khan, Rajpal Yadav, Sharad Malhotra and comedian Ahsaan Qureshi. Bedi, who had shared screen space with Khan in films such as Jodi No. 1, Dhamkee and Kaaboo, was seen arriving to offer his condolences to the bereaved family.
Manish Wadhwa, known for his work across television and films, was also photographed at Khan's residence as the family prepared for the last rites. Their presence reflected the close professional relationships Khan had built during his decades-long career.
Khan's last rites were held in Mumbai on Friday. According to son Mohsin Khan, his mortal remains were taken for the final prayers before he was laid to rest at the Yaari Road graveyard. His son and other family members accompanied him on his final journey.
The actor died on Thursday, September 24. His business partner Shivam confirmed that Khan had been battling lung cancer. He had earlier recovered after being diagnosed with the disease, but it reportedly relapsed shortly before his death. He was subsequently admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital, where he died around 7 pm.
Khan's career spanned several decades, with the actor making a mark through a series of supporting roles. He was particularly remembered for his comic performances and his role as a disabled hockey player in Welcome, which became one of his most recognisable characters. He also appeared in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Gadar 2 and Stree 2, among several other projects.
Following news of his death, several members of the industry paid tribute to him. Rajpal Yadav, who had worked with Khan, also remembered the veteran actor and shared an emotional account of their last meeting.
As colleagues and friends gathered to bid him goodbye, Khan's passing marked the loss of a familiar face whose supporting performances remained an integral part of many popular Hindi films.
