Actor Raza Murad has slammed Bollywood A-listers for not attending Mushtaq Khan's funeral. Khan, who appeared in Akshay Kumar's hit movie Welcome, died on September 24 due to cancer. His last rites were held the following day, i.e on September 25.
In a clip that Raza Murad shared on his Instagram, he grieved the demise of Mushtaq Khan but also asked Bollywood stars for being absent from the veteran actor's funeral. "Afsoos baat yeh hai koi bhi star unhe apna aakhiri salaam pesh karne nahi aaya," he said and then added, "koi bada chehra nahi aaya."
While Murad did not name any particular celebrity, he expressed disappointment over actors not being able to spare even 50 minutes to attend Khan's last rites. He also highlighted the late actor's contribution to the film industry, saying "Na unhone kisi ki chamcha giri ki, voh bas apne kaam ke balboote pe yahan tak phouche hai."
Raza concluded by reminding everyone that money and fame do not last long and urged everyone to stay humble.
Meanwhile, Annu Kapoor, Gajendra Chauhan and Rajpal Yadav arrived at Khan's funeral. While paying emotional tribute to his 'dear friend and colleague,' Kapoor expressed to the media outside the crematorium, saying, "That is precisely why I am even more deeply pained, because just about six months ago, we worked together in Kanpur. He appeared completely cheerful and happy, or perhaps he was hiding (his illness)⦠He was wonderful. Three years ago as well, I had the privilege and good fortune of working alongside him in a film," he said.
Mushtaq Khan passed away on September 24. His condition subsequently deteriorated after his prolonged battle with lung cancer, and he breathed his last on Thursday.
