As the devastating flash floods hit Nepal and parts of China recently,the world is left in shock over the disaster and the loss of lives and destruction caused by it. While the rescue operations are underway, several bollywood celebs have taken to social media to react to the floods and extend their support.
Sanjay Dutt extended his support for the victims on Instagram Stories by writing, "My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the floods in Nepal. I stand with you in this difficult time and will always be there to support you in whatever way I can. Stay safe and stay strong."
Similarly, Farhan Akhtar also took to his Instagram Story and wrote, "My heart goes out to all affected by the flash floods and mudslide on the Nepal-Tibet border. The videos and images of the catastrophe are horrific and one can't even begin to imagine how helpless those who were in its path must have felt and how devastatingly painful it must be for those they've left behind."
Actress Bhumi Pednekar, who was seen actively helping the rescue operations during the Assam floods, also reacted to videos from the flood-hit areas and wrote, "Nepal, you are not alone. We are coming with food, shelter and the strength to help you rebuild."
Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram Stories and reacted to the tragedy, saying, "Terribly sorry for the tragedy and the loss."
Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood has already stepped forward to support people affected in the massive flood on August 26. The actor took to his official X handle and promised food, shelter, and all possible assistance, saying, "Nepal, you are not alone. We are coming with food, shelter, and the strength to help you rebuild."
Taking to her Instagram stories, actor Kriti Sanon, who has been facing backlash, reshared a heartbreaking picture from the rescue operations where a rescuer is seen carrying an old woman in his arms while she looks up at him scared. "Praying for those affected in Nepal," she wrote.
While speaking to NDTV, Manisha Koirala shared, "My first thoughts are towards the people, the victims, the people who are suffering. Prayers for them. I think we all need to pray for them. And beyond borders, beyond this thing, on a human-to-human level, to see such a huge amount of human suffering, it's a heartbreaking situation."
"And it came all of a sudden, shockingly, like the way even the earthquake, I remember many years back, shattered. The visuals, the news, the stories, I've never seen. I don't think many of us have seen this kind of flood or this kind of fury of nature. And we all need to pray, and we all need to step forward to support and help," she added.
Catastrophic flash floods hit northern Nepal on the morning of August 26, 2026. The tragedy led to the deaths of hundreds of people, leaving over a thousand missing. The affected districts in the Nepal-Tibet border region include Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading along the Trishuli River.
According to reports, the death toll has risen to 538 as fresh flooding threat continue to emerge.
