Nora Fatehi recalls being boxed as a song girl: ‘I worked hard to finance my own music career’

In a recent conversation, Nora spoke about breaking out of the box and creating her own identity beyond film songs.

In a recent conversation on the Untrigerred podcast, Nora has opened up about her journey of breaking out of the space people initially placed her in and how she worked towards creating her own identity beyond just being known for songs in films. Looking back at her journey, the actress, performer and singer spoke about starting small, staying persistent and not allowing others to define the limits of what she could do.

She shared, "It's to send out the message that you can start from the bottom. You can start small, and if you work really hard, and if you're persistent and you don't allow people to box you, you can convert it to bigger milestones. And I was at a point where people were trying to box me as that girl that only does a song in a movie. But I worked hard to finance my own independent music career so that I can also become an international singer while doing this stuff in movies because they're great. They're a big chunk of what Bollywood is today, whilst actually being able to represent at a global stage."

She added, "Now this sends a message out to the girls who are struggling right now that it's okay, this is temporary. You can elevate from that if you really put your focus on the right things. And it's also a message to the industry that you don't get to box artists. We have the power to drive our own narratives. That's why I want people to know about this milestone."

In the work front, Nora Fatehi is set to begin shooting for The Royals Season 2 with Ishaan Khatter. The actress, who has had a memorable year so far, has continued to make waves globally with her music and international appearances.
