Nushrratt Bharuccha has suffered a spinal fracture following an accident in Bali, where she had travelled for a work-cum-holiday trip. On Friday, the actress returned to Mumbai via an air ambulance after recieving initial treatment and stabilisation at a local hospital in Bali. Her team made arrangements for her safe transportation back to Mumbai. Following further evaluation by the medical team, she will be undergoing spine surgery, according to an official statement from her publicist.
On Friday (October 2), the actress was airlifted from Bali to Mumbai and was seen on a stretcher with a drip attached to her hand. People surrounded her to ensure her safety, while medical staff were seen preparing to take her to the hospital.
According to a statement issued by her publicist, Nushrratt extended her stay in Bali following the accident. While initial reports stated that the actor had suffered an injury and was receiving treatment at a hospital in Bali, the nature of her injury was not known at the time.
Her team later confirmed that Nushrratt had suffered a fracture in her spine in the accident. According to the statement, she remained under medical observation and will undergo spine injury treatment following further evaluation by doctors. "At present, our immediate priority is her health and ensuring she receives the necessary medical care," the statement reads. Her team urged privacy while she focuses on treatment and recovery and thanked fans and well-wishers for their concern.
A week ago, Nushrratt had posted pictures from her holiday on social media. Sharing the photographs, she wrote, "Holiday on my mind! Where do I head out to now?"
The injury comes shortly after Nushrratt was confirmed for Remo D'Souza's upcoming action film, alongside Tiger Shroff. The project marks Nushrratt and Tiger's first on-screen collaboration. According to India Express, Pashmina Roshan, Abhishek Banerjee and Elvish Yadav will also be part of the project. For now, details about Nushrratt's character have been kept under wraps.
With Nushrratt now set to undergo spinal surgery and prioritise her recovery, her upcoming professional commitments are expected to be hampered.
