I am extremely passionate about still photography. I started with photography long back with my brother Santosh Sivan, even before I entered filmmaking.
My dad used to say, "Whatever you do, be your best in it." Santosh was best at photography and so it became his profession, whereas I realised my potential in filmmaking.
But taking still photographs still remains my number one passion. I make it a point to take at least two photographs everyday.
I shoot patterns, people, scenery, and so on; I don't wait for a particular subject or object. I like to capture Mumbai in my camera from my car window or on long road trips.
In fact, on Sundays my office, which gets converted into a studio and most of my friends come there to pose for me and we have a blast catching up.
