Back on May 28, 2014, Salman had tweeted, "Zinta's team won kya?" That day, the playoff between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, was held. The match was won by KKR, who went on to defeat Punjab Kings again in the final on June 1, 2014.

On Thursday, Preity Zinta expressed her happiness after her team defeated five-time champions Mumbai Indians in a match held on April 16.

The Mumbai Indians suffered a defeat in Match 24 of the Indian Premier League 2026 against Punjab Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Preity took to X to share her excitement and praised the team's composure and standout performances by Prabhsimran Singh and Arshdeep Singh. She also lauded skipper Shreyas Iyer and coach Ricky Ponting for their leadership.

She shared a selfie featuring her standing in front of a TV with the match playing. The actress was seen smiling ear-to-ear.

Preity wrote, "Yes Yes Yessss. Congratulations punjabkingsipl for this win. So much maturity from prabhsimran_84 & wow arshdeep.singh_. Happy to see you shine.
