Social media influencer and cricketer Prithvi Shaw's fiancee, Akriti Agarwal, recently grabbed headlines by posting a cryptic note on social media. Her note about being 'cheated' led many to speculate that she was talking about the cricketer. Following the rumours, Akriti has now clarified that she never announced that their engagement was called off.
Akriti took to social media to address the rumours, saying she and Prithvi are still happily together. She further claimed her previous post was widely taken out of context. Akriti further added that she never planned on issuing a clarification but was compelled to after her partner's dignity was questioned.
Sharing a note on Instagram Stories, she wrote, "Just want to clear something up. I never mentioned my fiance name, nor did I say that our engagement was called off or that we had separated. It was unfortunate that many people assumed it was about him."
Akriti further stated that she and Prithvi are "happy together" and that they remain engaged, reiterating that their relationship is doing absolutely fine. She further wrote, "This has also made me realize how easy it is for a public figure's image and reputation to be affected by assumptions. A single post, without any names or context, can lead people to draw conclusions that aren't true."
Akriti went on to explain why she finally addressed the rumours, saying, "I never wanted to post this story for clarification. But when my partner's dignity became the subject of so many posts."
She later shared another Instagram Story, making it clear that while Prithvi is an important part of her life, he is not the only person in it. She wrote, "He is my life, but he is not the only person in my life. I have family, friends, and people who matter to me, too. It's disappointing how easily people create stories around a public figure without any facts, just for their own benefit. Years of hard work, dedication, and reputation can be damaged by baseless speculation, and that's something people often fail to understand."
In a separate story, Akriti clarified, "That story was meant only for my close friends, but one small mistake has ended up costing the person I love his reputation." She said that she does not wish to reveal who the original post was about and that she believes that "God will deliver justice in his own time."
The speculation around trouble in their relationship began after Akriti Agarwal shared a cryptic Instagram Story. Her note read, "I got cheated so many times, yet I never said a word. Still can't believe that after taking one step aheadâ¦" Without naming anyone, she further wrote, "Everything is true every rumours is true. What you see on social media about him."
