Salman Khan remains one of the biggest superstars in the country. While the actor has faced a challenging run at the box office in recent years, it has done little to impact his massive fan following. The actor recently made a surprising revelation about his film selection process.

Salman Khan says no to script

In an interaction with Variety India, Salman revealed that he has never read a movie script in his life.

The actor, who began his journey in Bollywood in the late 1980s and went on to achieve superstardom with several blockbuster films, admitted that he has never signed a film based solely on a script.

"I've never read a script in my entire life. I've written them, but I've never read them," Salman said in the promo clip of the upcoming interview.

Reportedly, Salman has hinted in the past that he prefers understanding a film's overall feel, treatment, and commercial appeal rather than reading a script in its entirety.

Salman on his luxury watches

In the same interview, Salman also addressed the buzz surrounding his luxury watch collection.

The actor is often spotted wearing high-end timepieces, some reportedly worth over Rs 1 crore.

Talking about it, Salman said in Hindi, "You see me wearing watches, but that doesn't mean the watches are mine. This one belongs to a friend, that one belongs to another friend…"

Salman on his acting skills

Last December, during the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Salman participated in an interactive session where he candidly reflected on his cinematic journey.

In his trademark humorous style, the actor admitted that he does not consider himself a great performer.

Joking about his acting, Salman said, "I don't think I'm some extraordinary actor. You can catch me doing anything, but you can't catch me acting. It just doesn't happen naturally for me. I simply do what I feel."

When the audience disagreed with him, Salman added another self-deprecating joke, saying, "Sometimes when I cry on screen, I feel like you people laugh at me."

Salman Khan's work front

On the work front, Salman's next release is Maatrubhumi.

The film was initially scheduled to hit theatres in April this year. However, it was postponed due to production delays, and the makers are yet to announce a new release date.

According to a source close to the actor, Maatrubhumi has always been envisioned as an emotionally driven story rather than a conventional war drama.

The source said, "For Salman, it's about showcasing the human side of a soldier, the emotional duality of living two lives, one on the battlefield and one at home."
