Samir on IPL's hot seat

SAMIR Kocchar, who is hosting the IPL show on TV, hasu00a0 left the cool confines of the studio to cheer his favourite teams on the cricket grounds itself. Samir speaks to CS from Cuttack, where's he just landed. He says, "It's pretty hot out here, but I am planning to explore the town. Cuttack has a number of temples and handicraft shops, which I plan to visit." But before he could set off, we shot some rapid fire questions at him:



Team I am supporting... To be honest, since I am so close to the game it's very tough for me to be subjective about the teams. Personally, I always vote for the underdog. I really want Kolkata Knight Riders to do well. Technically I feel that Delhi Daredevils have a good chance.

Team most likely to goof up...u00a0 I think the Rajasthan Royals are in a bit of a problem. Three of their top players are out with injuries. Even Shane Warne is looking a little rusty. But they can always bounce back.

Most hyped and underrated team...u00a0 The Kolkata Knight Riders. A team which has Shahrukh Khan and Bengal tiger Sourav Ganguly is bound to stay in the news.u00a0

Favourite ground...u00a0 Eden Gardens, Kolkata, it's the mecca of cricket in India

Favourite stadium...u00a0 DY Patil stadium, Navi Mumbai. It has the best facilities for the players, media and fans.

The drama king...u00a0 I think Shane Warne, but in a really nice way. Even Sreesanth is a lot of fun with his aggression and intensity.

The IPL heartthrob...u00a0 Me, me, me! If you don't think it's me, please ask this question to a girl.

Favourite cheerleaders...u00a0 KKR and Deccan Chargers.

Favourite commentator...u00a0 I have three-four favourites. Ravi Shastri, Arun Lal, Navjot Singh Sidhu and my dear friend Danny 'Mad Max' Morrisson.

I love Sidhu because...u00a0 Everyday he matches his turban with his shirt. As a co-host, he's brimming with energy and great fun to be with. Not to mention the one-liners.
