It all started when Smriti Irani, who recently made her Instagram debut, shared a candid picture of Shanelle. Smriti captioned the photo, "#familyphoto some one is being missed sorely @shanelleirani."
That's when Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he's named Smriti Irani's step-daughter Shanelle. According to SRK's Instagram post, the King Khan and Smriti Irani's husband Zubin are childhood friends.
SRK re-posted Smriti Irani's photo and wrote, "My childhood friend Zubin's daughter all grown up and so pretty... and just for the record I named her Shanelle."
Smriti Irani went on to comment on the picture saying, "#memories #family #friends Best kept secret out, she continues to make us proud."
The 41-year-old Union Minister of Textiles joined Instagram just a couple of days back and was welcomed by her friend and TV queen Ekta Kapoor.
Shanelle is Zubin Irani's daughter from his first wife Mona.
On the Bollywood front, Shah Rukh Khan is working on films with Aanand L Rai and Imtiaz Ali. SRK was last seen on the big screen in 'Raees' that released earlier this year.
