In less than a year of turning entrepreneur, Shahid Kapoor has managed to catch the attention of the retail industry. Last week in Delhi, the actor picked up the best entrepreneur award for his athleisure clothing label, Skult, at a function acknowledging corporates, start-ups and entrepreneurs from the retail and e-retail space.
A source says, "Shahid's introductory collection evoked a great response soon after its launch. The brand enjoys great popularity among the youth. Without retailing on sale, a lot of their items are sold the minute they come on cart."

Insiders tell us that the e-commerce portal is considering launching Shahid's personally curated merchandise in brick-and-mortar stores over the next three months. "Targeted at millennial consumers, it may soon make its store debut," an insider says.
Shahid Kapoor, who is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati', is visibly ecstatic about winning accolades for his business acumen. "My collection is about expressing yourself without restrictions, and brings together fashion and functionality. I think that is what struck a chord with our consumers across all demographics, not just the youth," he says.
Talking about plans to take the label to apparel stores, he says, "The kind of appreciation we have received is definitely a driving force to make the brand even bigger. An award recognising our growth is overwhelming."
