The teaser video and title of Kapoor's next with director Shree Narayan Singh of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha fame will be launched tomorrow. Tentatively titled Roshni, the social drama revolves around the common man's fight against the power distribution companies in the country that make its consumers cough up huge amounts for bills.

Given the subject of the film, the director thought Diwali was the perfect time to launch the teaser. "The festival of lights is the right occasion for us to throw light on a subject that needs to be discussed. We look forward to making a film that is both commercially entertaining and encourages a conversation on the subject," he says.

Kapoor is said to play a lawyer who raises his voice against the unethical practices of the power distribution companies. mid-day had earlier reported how Abhishek Bachchan has been approached to play the parallel lead while Katrina Kaif is likely to play Kapoor's love interest in the drama, which has been written by Rustom (2016) scriptwriter Vipul K Rawal. Says a source, "Both Katrina and Abhishek have expressed interest. The final cast will be announced soon." The project is slated to go on floors in January.
