Casting director Shanoo Sharma has shared a cryptic social media post which has sparked discussions. Sharma shared a note about talent becoming the "next big trend." Notably, the post comes days after Anjali Anand's remarks where she claimed that Shanoo asked her to lose weight when she was facing a hard time due to lack of work.

Shanoo took to Instagram to share a post on Tuesday that read, "I hope the next big trend is talent." The post quickly drew reactions from several actors from the fraternity. Bhumi Pednekar responded to the post by commenting, "Word," seemingly agreeing with Sharma. Similarly, others shared their take on the casting director's statement.

Ridhima Pandit commented, "I truly hope so too, but clearly that's never going to happen :) the cringier u are the more work you will get." She further argued that visibility, connections and getting featured in paparazzi pages often has a bigger role to play in determining who gets opportunities in Bollywood.

Anjali Anand's remarks

Notably, Shanoo's post comes shortly after Dhamaal 4 actress Anjali Anand recently opened up about her past interactions with the casting director. During her appearance on Farah Khan's food vlog, Anjali recalled how she navigated her way in the industry without any backing.

Anjali recalled that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she lost all her savings and travelled to Goa when she received a call from Sharma about a film casting. Recalling her experiences with Shanoo, she said that whenever they met, Sharma would tell her, "When you lose weight, we will do something."

During the conversation, Anjali's mother shared how she had jokingly doubted when her daughter got an opportunity to meet Karan Johar when she went for the audition for Dhamaal 4. Recalling her reaction, she told Farah Khan, "Koi backing nahi hai, koi pehchaan wala nahi hai." Anjali then interjected, saying, "But, talent hai na."
