At a recent event in Mumbai, he said, "Aap log pant bhi achhi pehente hain aur shirt bhi achhi pehente hain. (You wear nice pants and shirts)." His comment elicited laughter, with Poonam expressing how it felt as though "the new year has already begun."

For the unversed, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, fondly known as ‘Shotgun', celebrated his 79th birthday recently, and warm wishes poured in from across the film industry, friends, family, and fans.

About Jaya Bachchan's remark

During her conversation with Barkha Dutt, she said, "Bahar drain-pipe type gande-gande pants pehen kar, haath mein mobile le kar… they think just because they have a phone, they can take your picture and say whatever they want, along with the kind of comments they pass. (Wearing dirty pants like drain pipes, and mobile in hands, they think they can take your picture)."

The actress added, "I am the product of the media, but my relationship with paparazzi is zero. Who are these people? Are they trained to represent the people of this country? You call them media? I come from the media. My father was a journalist. I have tremendous respect for such people."

The Sholay actress also reacted to being called the most hated person on social media. She said, "I don't give a damn. I don't care."

Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit also criticised the veteran actress for her "harsh" comment. Her sharp comments were deemed "elitist" by several industry voices. However, the issue has now escalated further. As reported earlier by mid-day, some of Bollywood's paparazzi agencies are preparing to file a formal complaint with the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) against the veteran actor's remarks. They are even planning to boycott the actress and stop clicking her completely.
