Shreyas Talpade reveals how Shah Rukh Khan's letter helped him get a loan for his first Mumbai home

Actor Shreyas Talpade recently shared a heartwarming story about how a simple gesture from Shah Rukh Khan changed his life. The actor revealed that a letter from the superstar helped him secure a home loan and purchase his first house in Mumbai during the making of Om Shanti Om. The revelation came during filmmaker Farah Khan's latest YouTube vlog, where she visited Shreyas' home with her longtime cook, Dilip.

Looking back at the memorable phase of his career, Shreyas credited Om Shanti Om for helping him achieve a major personal milestone. He shared that despite working in the industry for years, he was initially unable to qualify for a housing loan.

"Main bank gaya tha, but loan eligibility nahi tha mera. The banker asked me which film I was working on. I said Om Shanti Om. She then asked who was starring in it, and I replied, 'Shah Rukh Khan.' She asked who the director was, and I said, 'Farah Khan.' Then she asked if I could get a letter from them," Shreyas recalled.

The actor revealed that he immediately reached out to Farah Khan, who ensured the request reached Shah Rukh Khan. Within just two days, the superstar had written the required letter for the bank.

"I called Farah, and within two days she got Shah Rukh Khan to write a letter to the bank. That very evening, my loan was sanctioned, and we could finally buy our first house," Shreyas said, expressing gratitude for the support he received.

Farah admitted she had completely forgotten about the incident but was delighted to hear how much it had meant to Shreyas. In her trademark humorous style, she joked, "Humne tujhe kya hi paise diye honge Om Shanti Om ke." Her light-hearted remark left everyone laughing as the conversation turned nostalgic.

During the vlog, Farah also recalled how she had cast Shreyas in Om Shanti Om after spotting him at a gym. Although the actor had recently delivered the critically acclaimed Iqbal, she was initially hesitant to offer him a supporting role. However, Shreyas accepted the part, which went on to become one of the memorable performances in the blockbuster film.

Farah also praised Shah Rukh Khan's generosity, sharing another anecdote about how the superstar has often extended support to people in the industry. According to her, such gestures are typical of Shah Rukh, who has always been known for standing by his colleagues when they need him the most.
