Vvaan to avoid clash with Toxic, Eetha; Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's film postponed by a month

The makers of Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest have announced a new release date for the film. Earlier announced to release on August 28, the film will not hit the screens almost a month later. By being pushed forward, the film has avoided a major box office clash with two big releases, Toxic and Eetha. Along with the announcement of the new release date, the makers have also unveiled a striking new poster that gives fans a glimpse into the film's folklore-driven world.

Vvan postponed

The makers dropped a new poster, showing a dramatic top-view of a powerful, almost warrior-like hero standing in the middle of a circle created by a bull and a tiger. The makers announced that the film will now hit the screens on September 25, 2026.

The Vvaan is touted to be a big-screen folklore spectacle, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia. It is written by Arunabh Kumar, helmed by Deepak Mishra, with DOP and Visual Director Manu Anand. The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Arunabh Kumar and Niraj Kothari.

Vvan avoids clash with Toxic, Eetha

Yash-starrer Toxic is set to release on August 26, 2026, after facing multiple delays. As a result, it was all set to clash at the box office with Shraddha Kapoor's Eetha and The Vvaan, both releasing during the same weekend. However, with The Vvaan now being postponed, the massive three-way clash has been avoided.

So far, no major film is slated to release on September 25, 2026. As a result, The Vvaan could be getting a solo window at the box office, while Toxic and Eetha will lock horns.

The clash between The Vvaan and Toxic had drawn attention particularly because Kiara Advani stars in a prominent role in Toxic, while her husband Sidharth Malhotra headlines Vvan. The situation led many to describe the release weekend as "Kiara versus Sidharth" at the box office.

With two big-ticket projects targeting the festive holiday window of Raksha Bandhan, audiences will be spoilt for options across genres, making it one of the most anticipated weekends for exhibitors and trade analysts.
