If story is the first criterion for Sikandar Kher when choosing projects, director is the next. On that count, the actor believes he has lucked out with Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam. The upcoming drama gave him the opportunity to work with director Avinash Arun of Killa (2015) and Paatal Lok fame for the first time.

"Avinash is the kind of human being I hope most people get to meet in their lives, whether through work or otherwise," said Kher.

Rajkummar Rao in ‘Prahaar'

For the actor, who plays a supporting role in the Rajkummar Rao-starrer, it was the director's distinct voice that stood out the most. "There is an honesty to his work, and that's what I connect with. He has his own voice, and I think it's only going to become stronger with time. There's so much more to come from him. People are going to see some great things from Avinash, and I feel lucky that I got to work with him."

Prahaar is a courtroom drama that sees Rao step into the shoes of renowned public prosecutor Nikam.
