Months after Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge emerged as two of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema, the franchise has found an unusual tribute. Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi recently revealed that an Army mess in Srinagar has dedicated a themed bar to the spy action films. Sharing glimpses on social media, the actor gave fans a tour of the space, which features artwork, posters and references inspired by the franchise.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Rakesh Bedi shared that he had been invited to inaugurate the Dhurandhar-themed bar during his visit to Srinagar. While he refrained from revealing the exact location for security reasons, he said he felt honoured to be part of the special occasion.
"I am in Srinagar. I won't go into details of where I am, but this is an Army mess. Here, they have made a Dhurandhar corner. They were waiting for someone to come and inaugurate it. Today, I happened to be here in Kashmir, in Srinagar, and I am going to do the honours. I am honoured to do that," the actor said before cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
He also clarified that he could not disclose the location of the Army mess because of security concerns.
After the inauguration, Rakesh offered a glimpse inside the newly opened bar, which prominently displayed a sign reading "Dhurandhar Bar - Established 2026." The interiors were decorated with posters and artwork inspired by the films, celebrating some of their most memorable characters.
Among the highlights was a poster of Gaurav Gera's popular milk soda seller character, complete with one of his signature dialogues from the film. A poster featuring Rakesh Bedi's own character was also displayed, alongside a drink-themed dialogue. One wall showcased a large artwork of Ranveer Singh, with part of a real gun incorporated into the installation, while another featured an illustration of R. Madhavan, who portrayed India's National Security Advisor in the franchise.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar follows Indian spy Hamza, also known as Jaskirat, played by Ranveer Singh, as he infiltrates a criminal network in Karachi to dismantle an ISI-backed terror operation. The franchise also stars Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. Released in 2025 and 2026, the two films went on to become massive box-office successes, cementing their place as one of Indian cinema's biggest action franchises.
