Dharmendra, 89, has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital, according to doctors, and his family, which includes sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, has decided to take him home.
On Wednesday morning, PTI provided an update on Dharmendra's condition. They added that the actor had been discharged from the hospital and that his family had decided to take him home. The 89-year-old has been in and out of the hospital for weeks.
"Mr Dharmendra Deol has been discharged this morning from Breach Candy hospital at 7:30 am. His treatment and recovery will continue at home," Dr Pratit Samdani told PTI.
Manager Amit Tuli also confirmed, "Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family's privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone's love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you."
The announcement comes after various videos of an ambulance coming and leaving Dharmendra's home circulated on social media.
On Tuesday morning, speculations spread that Dharmendra had died in the hospital. However, his family, including wife Hema Malini and daughter Esha Deol, rushed to social media to refute the bogus allegations, assuring fans that the veteran actor was alive and responding well to treatment. They claimed that he is stable. Dharmendra was brought into a hospital in Mumbai earlier this week.
Dharmendra's family spent the entire day on Tuesday with him in the hospital. His children Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Esha Deol, nephew Abhay Deol, and wife Hema Malini, were all seen leaving the hospital on Tuesday evening. Aamir Khan and his girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, were seen visiting Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital on Tuesday. His visit follows Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's visit to the 89-year-old veteran star at the hospital on Monday evening.
Dharmendra was recently seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. He will next appear in the Sriram Raghavan-directed film Ikkis, which also stars Agastya Nanda. The forthcoming military drama is set to premiere in December.
