The entertainment industry lost a veteran actor, Dinyar Tirandaz, who reportedly passed away in Mumbai on June 11, 2026. The veteran actor was known for his memorable performances and his portrayal of funny Parsi characters across films and television, leaving behind a legacy that spans decades. Over the years, his comic timing and unique screen presence had made him a familiar face among viewers.

The news of his demise was shared on Facebook by the group "Parsi Zoroastrians Worldwide - The Hyderabadi Page." The post read, "Mr Dinyar Tirandaz brother of Late Rustom Tirandaz has left for his heavenly abode. Paidust today at Wadia Bungli, Bombay, at 3:45 pm. Sarosh Yazad Ni Panah. Ashem Vohu." The news was also shared by a few Instagram pages.

According to the Facebook post, Dinyar breathed his last at 3:45 pm at Wadia Bungli, Mumbai. As news of his passing away spread across social media, members of the entertainment industry paid heartfelt tributes to the veteran actor. Suresh Menon expressed his condolences by commenting, "Om Shanti. " Meanwhile, actress Chitrangda shared folded hands emojis.

About Dinyar Tirandaz

Dinyar Tirandaz was a veteran of both television and cinema, who became particularly popular for playing quirky, lovable and often humorous Parsi characters. Fans fondly remember him as Mr Keki Daruwala from the iconic sitcom Zabaan Sambhal Ke. His portrayal remains one of the most memorable characters of Indian television.

He made his debut with Duniya (1984), an action drama film directed by Ramesh Talwar. Later, he appeared in shows such as Nukkad and Byomkesh Bakshi. Meanwhile, his filmography includes famous Bollywood movies like Hello Brother (1999), Albela (2001), Chalte Chalte (2003), Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), and Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal (2012). His last release was Wass...up! Zindagi (2017), a Gujarati family drama film.

According to the Facebook post, Dinyar Tirandaz also co-owned a theatre company with his wife. Additionally, he was also the owner of a metal polishing firm. "Probably, one of the last few Parsis whom you could blindly give your silver ses, etc to polish! Wonder if the firm still survives!," the post added
