Vicky Kaushal says watching Katrina Kaif and son Vihaan makes him want to pause time

Vicky Kaushal has been discovering a new side of life since becoming a father. The actor, who welcomed son Vihaan with wife Katrina Kaif in November 2025, recently spoke about how parenthood has reshaped his priorities, made him more mindful and brought him a sense of fulfilment he had not experienced before.

Vicky Kaushal calls fatherhood a magical experience

In a conversation shared on Harit Zaveri Jewellers YouTube channel, Vicky spoke about the joy of watching Katrina spend time with their son. Recalling those quiet family moments, he said, "To just see your wife's happiness in that moment and your child giggling, and you in that moment…You just feel that if you could pause this, you could just live this more…It's just amazing."

The actor added that fatherhood has made him more sensitive and conscious of his responsibilities. "It makes you incredibly responsible as a human being, that now you have to practice what you preach," he said.

Describing the transition as difficult to put into words, Vicky called fatherhood a "magical experience". He admitted that while the changes cannot be measured, the feeling itself has been unlike anything he had known.

"You can't quantify change in a sense of how and what has changed, but I can tell you this - it is just such a magical experience; it's a magical feeling that I don't know if there will be enough words to really if you can explain the detail of how you actually feel," he shared.

From his son's first cry to his changing expressions and gestures, Vicky said even the smallest milestones have become memorable. He reflected that, despite the idea that humans are never fully satisfied, fatherhood has given him several family moments when he felt he needed nothing more.

Vicky Kaushal says son has made him self-aware

The Chhaava actor also spoke about how becoming a parent has changed the way he views his own conduct. With children learning by watching those around them, he said he has become more conscious of his behaviour at home.

"Your child's first learning is going to be subconsciously what he sees at home," Vicky said, adding that he has monitored himself more closely over the past 10 months. "That has been my biggest learning," he added.

Vicky and Katrina announced Vihaan's birth on November 7, 2025, and revealed his name in January 2026. The couple have largely kept their son away from the public eye while occasionally sharing glimpses of their experience as parents.

On the work front, Vicky will next feature in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
