Raveena Tandon was born on October 26, 1974, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She is the daughter of Ravi Tandon, a well-known filmmaker, and Veena Tandon
Raveena studied at Jamnabai Narsee School and later attended Mithibai College in Mumbai. Her friends and family often call her Ravs or Ravsy
Interestingly, she initially wanted to become a pilot or an interior designer, not an actor
Raveena married film distributor Anil Thadani on February 22, 2004, in a grand yet traditional ceremony held at Udaipur
The couple has two biological children- a daughter, Rasha Thadani, and a son, Ranbir Thadani
In 1995, at the age of 21, Raveena adopted two girls, Pooja and Chhaya, well before she got married — a decision that won her much admiration
A few years back, Raveena had revealed why she kept the adoption low key. "When I did adopt the girls, initially, I did not talk about them at all, till they passed their 10th standard and after that, they started hanging out with me on my shoots. Then, everyone started asking, ‘Who are these girls?’ And I would start telling them this is how it is. You were so scared that even if you say something, what will these people make it out to be? Magazine wale bol denge ki isko secretly baby ho gaya, kiska baby hai. It was that era. Itna gandh tha unke minds mein. To avoid such stories, I just did it very quietly,"
She shares a close bond with all four of her children, often posting affectionate family moments on social media
On keeping her biological kids away from public teen-glamour, in 2016 she stated: "My kids are small to think about films and their interest area. I have kept my kids away from over exposure (of the glamour world) that the other kids are getting, and becoming celebrities on social media much before they become teens. I want them (my kids) to grow as normal kids"
Talking about spending time with her kids, Raveena said, "My daughter is my best friend; there is nothing I would withhold from her or she would withhold from me. Fortunately, I enjoy spending time with both my children, whether it’s going to a football game with my son or taking my daughter to a concert. And I reserve that time so that no one can bother me"
Talking further about on whom their kids have gone, she said, "My daughter, I believe, is very much like me as a person. My son is half and half—half Anil, half me. So they both have an interest in animals, wildlife, nature, and other such things. Ranbir is a little quiet and introverted, much like Anil. But he looks exactly like my father with a hint of Anil, whereas Rasha looks half and half but has the same personality as me"
Raveena became a grandmother when her adopted daughter Chhaya had a baby, embracing the role with joy and pride
We wish the actress a very happy birthday!
