Dhurandhar

With approximately Rs 840.85 crore nett in 36 days, Dhurandhar has become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time in India, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Rs 640.25 crore nett) to claim the top spot.

On the global stage, Dhurandhar has become the fifth highest-grossing Indian film, trailing behind Dangal, Pushpa 2, Baahubali 2, and RRR. With more than Rs 1,200 crore already, it is set to surpass RRR soon.

Dhurandhar is currently the fourth-highest-grossing Indian film ever domestically, closing in on KGF: Chapter 2 (Rs 859 crore nett), which it is expected to overtake soon. Only Pushpa 2 (Rs 1,234.1 crore nett) and Baahubali 2 (Rs 1,030.42 crore nett) remain ahead of it.

Dhurandhar has also become Ranveer Singh's biggest box office hit to date. Notably, it also marks his first clear blockbuster in nearly seven years, after Simmba (2018).

Dhurandhar has become a career-defining milestone, boasting a 100 per cent box office success rate, thus establishing him in an elite club alongside he likes of Rajkumar Hirani and Rohit Shetty.

Dhurandhar has also helped Ranveer Singh join an elite league of stars, including Shah Rukh Khan (Jawan, Pathaan), Ranbir Kapoor (Animal), and Vicky Kaushal (Chhaava), to have delivered record-breaking box office numbers in recent times.

Dhurandhar has also rewritten the rules for A-rated films, overtaking Animal (Rs 553.87 crore nett) within just its second week. It now stands tall as the highest-grossing A-certified film in Indian cinema history.

Dhurandhar earned Rs 59 crore on its second Sunday, which marks the highest second Sunday in Hindi cinema. It surpassed Pushpa 2 (Rs 54 crore). Similarly, in its second weekend run of Rs 140-146 crore nett also made it the biggest second weekend ever for a Hindi film.

Dhurandhar was released on December 5, which was well before the holiday season. Despite that, it defied every conventional box office myth, forcing many to rethink their release strategies. It became India's biggest non-festive Hindi release ever.

The film also marched on to record multiple milestones in the shortest span like entering the Rs 700 crore nett club by day 26, crossing Rs 800 crore by day 30, and breaching the Rs 1,000 crore mark by day 34. No Hindi film had achieved this before.

The film has also turned out to be a special one for Akshaye Khanna's second innings. It has made him the second actor, after Shah Rukh Khan, to star in two Rs 500 crore-plus grossers (Chhaava and Dhurandhar) in the same year.

Dhurandhar became the highest-grossing film of 2025 with earnings of Rs 1,269.24 crore, storming past Kantara: Chapter 1, which earned about Rs 850−900 crore.
