A Big Bang Theory prequel called Young Sheldon, will kick off later this year.

Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro, who helmed the original show, will work on this project too.

Young Sheldon will star Iain Armitage as a nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper, one of the main characters in the hit show. It will follow his journey as he attends high school in East Texas.

Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory, will narrate the new show as the adult character.

Zoe Perry will take on the role of Sheldon's mother, a part that's currently played by Zoe's real mother Laurie Metcalf. The first episode will be directed by Jon Favreau, the man behind Iron Man, and more recently, the remake of The Jungle Book.
