Marvel Studios has kicked off the countdown to Avengers: Doomsday with a record-breaking start. The film's first official trailer has crossed 500 million views worldwide within its first 24 hours, making it Disney's biggest trailer launch ever and the second-biggest movie trailer debut in history. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo marked the milestone by thanking fans on social media for the overwhelming response.
The Russo Brothers shared a note of gratitude on Instagram after the trailer shattered viewing records, celebrating the excitement surrounding the next chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The massive response comes months ahead of the film's theatrical release, with fans eager to see one of Marvel's biggest crossover events since Avengers: Endgame.
Along with its record-breaking online debut, Avengers: Doomsday has also made an impressive start at the box office. According to the studio, the film recorded 16.5 million USD in advance ticket sales within its first 24 hours of bookings.
Premium-format screenings have witnessed particularly strong demand, reflecting the anticipation for the Marvel spectacle.
The trailer offers the first glimpse of Robert Downey Jr. in his new role as Doctor Doom, setting the stage for a multiversal conflict featuring heroes and villains from across the Marvel universe. It also reunites several fan-favourite characters, including Steve Rogers, Thor, the Fantastic Four and legendary X-Men characters such as Professor X and Magneto.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday boasts one of Marvel's biggest ensemble casts. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Paul Rudd, Vanessa Kirby, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Channing Tatum, David Harbour and several others.
The film will bring together heroes from three different universes as they face an unprecedented threat that could reshape the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Avengers: Doomsday is produced by Kevin Feige along with Louis D'Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz. The superhero epic is set to release exclusively in theatres across India on December 18 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, with premium formats also available.
