Model Cindy Crawford and her husband, businessman Rande Gerber, have paid a heartbreaking tribute to their son, Presley Gerber, a month after his demise at the age of 27. Their daughter, model Kaia Gerber, also paid tribute to her brother in an emotional post.
Presley died on September 20 at a rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles. The cause of his demise has not been known.
On Sunday, October 18, Cindy and Rande shared a collaborative statement on Instagram, grieving the loss of their son. The statement read, "We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother. We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years."
Remembering him as a kind and gentle person, they added, "He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever. We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability."
The couple also appreciated those who had reached out to support their family during the tough time."We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain," they wrote.
The message concluded with the words, "Till we meet our sweet boy again," and was signed by Cindy, Rande and Kaia.
Kaia also posted a series of pictures and videos capturing moments she had shared with Presley. In a heartfelt letter addressed to her older brother, she spoke about struggling to find words to express her grief. Her emotional caption read, "I love you the bluest, to the moon and back and back again, forever big brother."
Several celebrities, including Taylor Lautner, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Suki Waterhouse and Paris Hilton, expressed their condolences in the comment section.
Presley was the eldest child of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber. He began his modelling career at 15, signing with IMG Models, and went on to collaborate with international fashion brands, including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Bottega Veneta. He had also been vocal about his struggles with depression and substance abuse.
