Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were recently spotted dining together, sparking curiosity among fans. Katy and Trudeau were seen at local restaurant Le Violon in Montreal on Monday, July 28. Notably, the appearance comes just a month after the singer ended her engagement with Orlando Bloom.
According to a PEOPLE report, the two were seen sharing a meal, enjoying cocktails. They even met with chef Danny Smiles during their visit. The duo also reportedly made a stop in the kitchen after their meal to thank the staff. According to reports, one of the dishes they were served included lobster. Notably, neither Perry's nor Trudeau's teams have reacted to the dinner outing.
Interestingly, their meeting comes shortly after both Perry and Trudeau announced major changes in their personal lives.
In June 2025, Perry and actor Orlando Bloom ended their engagement after nearly a decade of togetherness. They released a joint statement from their representatives, which stated that the couple had been "shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting."
They even have a daughter named Daisy Dove, who remains their top priority. Notably, just weeks after the announcement, the 40-year-old was seen vacationing on a yacht with Bloom during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding off Italy's Amalfi Coast, suggesting the ex-couple remains on good terms.
On the other hand, Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire announced their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple have three children together, namely, Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
Trudeau had shared a message on social media while announcing his split, wherein he said the decision followed "many meaningful and difficult conversations," adding that they remain close as a family. The former Canadian Prime Minister wrote: "Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate."
The 53-year-old added, "As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you."
