Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown recently revealed that she experienced a "slight depression" after the famous show came to an end in 2025. She opened up about the emotional impact of leaving behind the decade-long show that shaped much of her childhood and career.

Millie Bobby Brown recalls struggling after Stranger Things ended

Speaking during a live recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast at New York's 92NY, Mille Bobby Brown said she struggled more than she expected after the filming of the show wrapped. Notably, the actor began playing Eleven at the age of 10. She described the end of the series as an intensely emotional experience that left her grieving a chapter of her life that had lasted a decade.

The 22-year-old added that she entered a "little bit of a slight, slight depression" in the weeks following Stranger Things' ending. Mille explained that she had not expected that she would feel so affected, while describing herself as someone who is usually upbeat.

The actor shares she spent much of January 2026 reaching out to her Stranger Things co-stars, hoping to maintain the close bonds they had built over the years. Brown even recalled contacting cast members to ensure that there were no unresolved issues between them and to reaffirm their friendships. Millie shared that she apologised to her cast members if she had ever upset anyone and that she wanted her co-stars to know that she still considered them family. Later, Brown says she found herself overwhelmed by emotion while reflecting on the end of the series.

Millie Bobby Brown on separating from her character

According to Millie Bobby Brown, separating from her character Eleven was particularly difficult since the character had become deeply intertwined with her own identity. She said the cast of the show had become a bigger part of her daily life than almost anyone else, given she often spent more time with them than with her own family.

Millie adds that saying goodbye to them, her character and the show after 10 years was something she found incredibly hard. "I'm going to miss Eleven more than anything," Brown said.
