Singer-songwriter Kesha has left fans both amused and shocked after revealing that she has been collecting human teeth for years, and she has no plans of stopping anytime soon. Appearing on the Las Culturistas podcast, the TikTok hitmaker spoke candidly about her unusual hobby, explaining that it all started because of her close bond with fans. According to the singer, one fan offered their child's baby teeth, sparking an obsession that has since turned into one of her most bizarre collections.
"Do you know I collect teeth? I do. Send them over," Kesha said. "The teeth started when I became obsessed with my fans and then someone was like, 'My child lost their teeth,' and I was like, 'Can I have them?'"
The Grammy-nominated artist revealed that fans have sent her more than 1,000 human teeth over the years. What began as a quirky idea soon evolved into a creative project, with Kesha transforming the teeth into wearable accessories.
"I made a necklace, an earring and then a belt and then a crown," she recalled. "Then I just started collecting them because it kind of freaks out straight men."
Kesha admitted that her fascination with teeth didn't stop after making jewellery. Instead, she began displaying them throughout her home in glass jars, treating them as unusual keepsakes.
"I just started putting them all over my home, in little jars," she shared.
While she understands why some people find the hobby unsettling, Kesha insists it's a more meaningful alternative than throwing the teeth away.
"Do you flush them down the toilet? Where are they going? Give them to me. Can I actually have them? It's not a drill, not a joke," she said before joking, "I am a pop star and I need your teeth."
The singer also explained that the collection carries sentimental value. During an earlier appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Kesha revealed that she even keeps her pets' teeth.
"It just reminds me when I have a little piece of the people I love," she said, adding that she has also preserved her cats' extracted teeth, including their tiny wisdom teeth.
Kesha has been open about her fascination with collecting teeth since 2012, and the hobby has only grown over the years. Embracing the nickname, she quipped, "I'm like the tooth fairy."
While her collection may not be for everyone, Kesha's latest revelation once again proves that she's never been afraid to embrace her eccentric side, even if it means asking fans to send her their baby teeth.
