Sylvester Stallone has once again found himself at the centre of attention online, but this time, it is not because of a new action film. Viral videos appearing to show the 80-year-old actor performing dangerous jumps, flips and high-risk stunts have left fans stunned. However, there is an important catch the footage is not real. The videos circulating on social media are AI-generated.
The clips appear to show Stallone continuing to perform physically demanding action sequences despite his age. Given his reputation for taking on intense roles and performing physical scenes throughout his career, many social media users initially believed the footage was genuine. Some even praised the Rocky and Rambo star for seemingly doing his own stunts at 80.
One viral post asked viewers, "Sylvester Stallone is 80 years old and just look at what he's still doing for action movies?" Another post claimed that the actor was "recording action scenes without doubles" at the age of 80. The videos quickly attracted attention from fans amazed by what appeared to be Stallone's extraordinary physical abilities.
However, the truth behind the footage is very different. According to the report, the viral clips are AI-generated and do not show Stallone actually performing the dangerous stunts seen in them. The footage appears to have been shared by Zoro's BTS, a Facebook profile that describes itself as focusing on Hollywood magic and examining stunts and visual effects frame by frame.
The videos may have appeared believable partly because of Stallone's long association with action cinema. The actor became a global star through characters such as Rocky Balboa and John Rambo, both of whom demanded considerable physicality. His image as an action hero has remained closely connected with his public persona, making the fabricated footage easier for some viewers to accept as authentic.
Stallone, however, has not publicly addressed the AI-generated videos so far. His official social media account continues to feature posts from his professional and personal life, but there has been no known response from the actor regarding the viral stunt clips.
Meanwhile, Stallone continues to remain active professionally. He is set to appear in Taylor Sheridan's Frisco King, a spin-off of Tulsa King. The upcoming series is reportedly set to be filmed in black and white using 1930s cameras. And his upcoming film I play Rocky.
While the viral videos may have briefly convinced fans that Stallone was still performing extreme stunts at 80, the footage serves as another reminder of how convincing AI-generated celebrity content can appear online.
