Zohran Mamdani hints at Taylor Swift`s wedding
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani recently added fresh fuel to speculation surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding with his latest comment. During a recent media briefing, Mamdani seemingly gave away details about the date and location of the much-discussed wedding.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, June 15, about New York City's security preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026, the mayor suggested that Swift's wedding would take place in New York around the start of July. His remarks soon drew attention since neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed thier wedding plans, venue details or a date.
While discussing the city's readiness for several upcoming major events taking place around Independence Day weekend, Mamdani listed what events New York would be preparing for in the coming weeks.
According to Page Six, Zohran Mamdani said, "We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks' Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding, all happening at the same time, and we are so excited to welcome the world here."
The comment instantly sparked speculation that the wedding could take place during the July 3-5 holiday weekend in New York.
When asked if he had received an invitation to the wedding, Mamdani replied, "No and no. I wish them a lovely wedding. I'll listen to Only the Young at home on my own."
Interestingly, Mamdani's remarks come just weeks following reports linking the couple to a potential New York ceremony. Earlier this month, Page Six and TMZ claimed that Madison Square Garden had emerged as a leading venue to host the wedding, with the July 3 weekend reportedly under consideration.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on social media in August 2025. They shared heartwarming photographs from the proposal, confirming they were planning to marry. The couple has been dating since 2023 and has frequently supported one another's careers. Swift frequently attends Kansas City Chiefs games, while Kelce makes appearances at her concerts.
So far, neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly confirmed a wedding date or venue, leaving fans confused.
