Hollywood actress Zendaya has spoken up about her feelings on being cast with her husband Tom Holland in the recently released film âThe Odyssey'.
The actress has called her casting opposite her husband a âdream', reports âFemale First UK'.
The 29-year-old actress was already "so proud" of her husband Tom, 30, when he got cast in Christopher Nolan's latest epic, and she was delighted they got to share the experience together when she joined him in the star studded ensemble.
She told Extra, "I remember when he got the call, I was, like, absolutely over the moon, so excited, so proud. And then never did it cross my mind that a second call would be coming to our home, you know? So, that was so special".
She further mentioned, "And yeah, just to be able to share something like that and watch him work in this context⦠It's the dream... It's absolutely the dream. So, I was happy".
Earlier, Zendaya revealed she was "already on Cloud Nine" for her husband and Spider-Man co-star Tom when he got the call.
She told the âHappy, Sad, Confused' podcast, "And then he came home and said, âI need you to read something'. And I was like, âIs it that thing we were just reading the other night?' And he was like (nods head), âBut now read it thinking of this character (Athena)'. And I was like, âShut up! You're joking!' It was pretty cool".
Meanwhile, Tom Holland, who plays Odysseus' son Telemachus in the movie, described getting to share the news with his wife as a "gift".
He told Access Hollywood, "It was such a gift because I know how much she's admired Chris. Interstellar is her favourite movie. I could never express to Chris how grateful I am to be able to give her that information".
He recalled how Nolan actually asked if he'd mind having Zendaya join the cast. Tom said, "At my meeting with Chris he asked me a question. He said, âWould you be offended if I asked Zendaya to play Athena?' I was like, âWhy would I be offended?' And then I asked him, âDo you want me to tell her'".
"And he said, âYeah'. And I went home and I said, âYou should read the script again'. And she said, I already read it. And I said, âJust read it again, but read Athena really closely'. And the little corners of her mouth (makes a smile on his own face). It was amazing", he added.
