Korean actress Kang Seo-Ha has unfortunately passed away at the age of 31 after battling cancer. The news of her death was circulated by Korean media on July 14, and has left the entire Korean entertainment industry and her fans shocked and mourning. It is believed that her funeral will take place on July 16 and her mortal remains will be laid to rest in Haman, South Gyeongsang Province.
According to a News.Az report, her family mentioned that Kang breathed her last on the afternoon of July 13 after her health suddenly declined during her second round of chemotherapy. One of her acquaintances, assumed to be her family member, posted a special video in memory of the late actress on Instagram, mourning her passing and celebrating her life. The 31-year-old's most recent project was the movie In The Net, co-starring Kim Seon-Ho and Park Gyu Young. She had been filming for the movie recently
The post shared by the family member read, "I still can't believe it, unnie. Even while enduring such immense pain, you worried about those around you and about me. Even though you couldn't eat for months, you insisted on paying for my meals with your own card and never let me skip a meal. My angel, who left us far too soon. Even as you endured everything with painkillers, you said you were grateful that it wasn't worse, and I felt truly ashamed. My dear sister, you went through so much. I hope you are only happy and free from pain where you are now!"
Funeral arrangements are being made for July 16. She will reportedly be buried at her family plot located in HamâÂÂan, South Gyeongsang Province. Soon after the news broke out, fellow actors and fans began flooding social media with condolences and cherishing her bright spirit on set.
Notably, she played the lead role in the upcoming film MangnaeâÂÂin (The Youngest), which has already been completed and will be released posthumously. Critics are questioning whether releasing a completed film so soon after her passing is respectful or exploitative. Meanwhile, others argue the film honours her artistry, giving closure to fans. The producers are planning to dedicate the release to her family and career.
Kang Seo Ha has appeared in K-Dramas such as Schoolgirl Detectives, Assembly, Flowers of the Prison, First Love Again, Through the Waves, Heart Surgeons, and Nobody Knows.
