Come 2026, and the audience will be treated to two doses of one of the most-loved franchises, Drishyam. Both the Hindi and the Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 are set to release next year. But while the Ajay Devgn-led film has yet to go on floors, the Malayalam version, headlined by superstar Mohanlal, is in the final stage of the making.
Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph shared that the film would arrive in cinemas "in the next three-four months." "The post-production is currently on. We should release the film in the next three-four months. The good thing is we are coming before the Hindi version," he chuckled.
Joseph shared the update at the announcement of JioHotstar's South slate, on Tuesday evening. Mohanlal also attended the event. Drishyam 3 wrapped up earlier this month. Mohanlal shared the news with his fans through an Instagram post. The actor posted a video of himself and the film's cast and crew from the final day of the shoot. The video also showed Joseph and Mohanlal cutting the cake that had "D3 Wraps" written on it. Mohanlal captioned the video, writing, "See you in the cinemasâ¦"
The Hindi version, being helmed by Abhishek Pathak who also directed the second part, will go on floors later this month. Besides Devgn, it will also star Tabu and Akshaye Khanna.
