Reports claiming that the shoot of Mohanlal's upcoming film Athimanoharam has been halted due to script-related issues have been dismissed by director Tharun Moorthy. The filmmaker recently took to social media to clarify that the rumours are baseless and that the production is progressing as planned despite weather-related challenges.

Director Tharun Moorthy breaks silence

Speculation about the film's production surfaced online after several reports suggested that confusion in the script had forced the makers to pause shooting. Responding to the claims, Tharun stated that he had been receiving numerous calls and messages regarding the rumours and wanted to set the record straight.

According to the director, the team has been shooting continuously in Thodupuzha for the past 78 days. While heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions have affected certain schedules, filming has not been stopped. He emphasised that the cast and crew remain committed to the project and are working through the challenges with enthusiasm.

Tharun also urged people not to spread unverified information for social media engagement, noting that such reports create unnecessary confusion among audiences and undermine the hard work of the entire team. His clarification comes at a time when anticipation for Athimanoharam is steadily growing among Malayalam cinema fans.

The film marks Tharun Moorthy's reunion with Mohanlal after the success of Thudarum. However, the director has previously clarified that the new project is very different in tone and should not be compared to their earlier collaboration. He has described Athimanoharam as a police procedural and family drama rather than an action entertainer.

Athimanoharam, Mohanlal's 366th film, features the actor as police officer T.S. Lovelajan. The film also stars Meera Jasmine in a key role and is scripted by Ratheesh Ravi. Produced by Ashiq Usman under Ashiq Usman Productions, the project boasts a strong technical crew, including composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Vivek Harshan and sound designer Vishnu Govind.

With the director firmly denying rumours of script troubles, the focus now returns to the film's production as the team continues work toward completing one of the most anticipated Malayalam releases on Mohanlal's slate.
