Raj Nidimoru admits he hasn’t seen Samantha’s early works: ‘I know the adulation she got’

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj Nidimoru recently marked their third collaboration with Maa Inti Bangaaram, which grossed over Rs 40 crore worldwide. The couple is also reportedly preparing to embrace parenthood, making it a particularly joyful phase in their lives. Heaping praise on the actress, Raj calls her a hungry actor while admitting he has not seen her previous works.

In an interview with News18, Raj praised Samantha and said, "She's a hungry and self-made actor. I haven't seen her early works, but I know the adulation she got and the stardom she has enjoyed over many years." He also spoke about how they navigate the ageist nature of showbiz. "We're sadly aware of the shelf-life for actors across industries. We discuss quite a few of these things," he remarks.

"But we also realise that beyond a point, it's your acting skills that keep an actor alive for longer. She's constantly aware and wanting to change, improve and find new ways of acting out the scenes," he adds.

The rumours of Prabhu's pregnancy began when a video from the celebration of her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, featuring the actor and Nidimoru, who has co-produced the film, surfaced online. In the videos, Samantha is seen wearing a fitted white round-neck T-shirt with a pair of blue jeans. She appeared cheerful while cutting a cake with the paparazzi gathered around them. However, what caught the eye of netizens was a bulge around her abdomen that was visible through the body-hugging T-shirt. This led many to believe it was a baby bump.

After the speculation, Mid-Day learnt that the actress is expecting her first child with Raj and is in her first trimester. The couple tied the knot in December 2025. They chose an intimate ceremony attended by close friends and family at Sadhguru's Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore, at the Linga Bhairavi Temple.

On the work front, Raj is currently working on an action-fantasy series titled Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, starring Samantha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi.
