Tamil actor Ravi Mohan has once again found himself at the centre of controversy. According to the latest reports, house help were allegedly detained at his home for stealing. The police control room reportedly received a call that the help hadn't returned home, leading to allegations of theft and a police complaint by the actor's team.
According to a Daily Thanthi report, the police control room received a complaint on Monday that the house help who had gone to work at his home hadn't returned. For the unversed, Ravi Mohan resides in the posh Injambakkam area of Chennai. When the Neelankarai police visited the actor's house, they reportedly found two female house help and one young boy being held captive in the house.
During the investigation, it was alleged that the two were being held captive on suspicion of stealing from the actor. The police intervened and stated that if there are complaints of theft, an official complaint must be filed under the law. They added that no one should be detained or questioned privately. The house help and the boy were then sent away with police assistance. It was also reportedly suggested that if there was a theft, a formal complaint be filed with the police station, along with appropriate evidence.
The report added that Ravi's manager filed a complaint against the house help, claiming that they stole a diamond necklace worth Rs 10 lakh, along with Rs 40,000 worth of cash from the house. Notably, there is no clarity of Ravi was at his home during the incident or if any action was taken regarding the alleged detention.
The actor and his team have not yet released a statement regarding the same.
Ravi has been in the news lately over his personal life. After months of reports that he had separated from Aarti Ravi, the actor confirmed the news in September 2024, leading to a messy public exchange between the two. The couple who tied the knot in 2009 have two children, Aarav and Ayaan.
In May 2025, Ravi made his first public appearance with healer-singer Keneeshaa Francis at a wedding. Later in the same month, he allegedly accused his estranged wife, Aarti, of domestic abuse.
In May 2026, Keneeshaa hinted at a breakup, after which he held a press meet where he got emotional. He alleged that he won't work till he's divorced from Aarti. On the workfront, Ravi will soon be seen in Bakkiyaraj Kannan's Benz, which also stars Raghava Lawrence in the lead role and is part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's LCU.
