Actor-turned-politician Vijay is contesting his first-ever election at the Tamil Nadu elections held today (April 23), after stepping into politics with his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party. Amid the elections, Trisha, who is rumoured to be in a relationship with Vijay, stepped out to cast her vote in Chennai. After voting, she displayed a clear sign of support towards Vijay, which surprised fans.

Trisha's first post after voting at Tamil Nadu elections

Trisha shared a picture on Instagram taken after she cast her vote. The picture shows her all smiles as she flaunts the ink on her finger while sitting in her car. She was seen dressed in a green floral kurta. In the caption, she only included pointing-finger and evil-eye emojis. However, what caught everyone's eye was the song Trisha chose for this post. She used the song Arjunar Villu from her 2013 hit film Ghilli with Vijay in the post. Notably, it was this film that made them a hit pair. The actress also specifically used a portion of the song that uses whistles, which happens to be TVK's party symbol.

Trisha's mother, Uma, was also seen accompanying her to the polling station as the two posed for pictures afterwards. She was also accompanied by her team at the polling station on Thursday morning. Trisha even spoke to the press afterwards and said, "Please vote, just go vote. That's your right, it's your duty. Please go vote."

Netizens react

Although Trisha did not specify which party she voted for, the song was enough for netizens to connect the dots. "Ghilli song: Code Word Accepted," one user joked, while another fan wrote, "If u know u know know." One user wrote, "BGM hints who you voted for." Some fans even began calling her Anni (sister-in-law), with comments like, "Anni on fire," and "Trisha vetri kazhagam (victory party)."

Trisha and Vijay were a hit pair back in the day after they shared screen in Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006), and Kuruvi (2008). Decades later, they were brought together again by Lokesh Kanagaraj for Leo (2023). Vijay tied the knot with Sangeeta Sornalingam in 1999 and has two sons. Sangeeta filed for divorce, citing infidelity as the reason.

The news broke in February this year, with claims that Sangeetha mentioned that Vijay was having an affair with an unnamed actress. Following the row, Vijay and Trisha attended a wedding reception together in March wearing matching outfits.
