Abhijeet Sawant
Abhijeet Sawant became a household name in 2005 when he won the first-ever season of Indian Idol, one of India's most popular reality singing competitions. Recently, he revealed that he was using dating apps even after his marriage to Shilpa Sawant. He shared that he joined the apps out of curiosity post-marriage and only stopped using them after news surfaced about his activity on the platforms.
In a chat with Hindi Rush, Abhijeet admitted to using dating apps after getting married and said he spoke to a couple of women through them. "I'm a curious person. I've always had curiosity. I was in the US with my friend, and he said, 'This is a new app. It's for dating.' I made my profile then, and it stayed as it was. Main kabhi kabhi beech mein jaata tha, dekhta tha kya hai, yeh sab kya hota hai? I used my real name, everything was genuine. My wife didn't know. But I didn't do anything wrong - didn't meet anyone or get involved," he said.

Sawant mentioned that he spoke to a few women he matched with on the app because he believed he could have deeper conversations with them. "When I got a match, we used to talk. These things are quite strange. I enjoy having conversations, and with women, you can sometimes have deeper discussions. I used to chat a lot. I found 2-3 people with whom I had good conversations. Later, it came out on Twitter that I had an account, and I thought, âThis won't look good'. She (my wife) didn't know about it at the time, but now she'll find out. Poor thing didn't even know what Tinder was. Now she knows. It's all open now - what's the big deal? If you want to do something, do it openly. How much can I hide everything?" he added.
Abhijeet Sawant married Shilpa Sawant in 2007. The couple has two children - Sonali and Amit. They used to live in the same colony and have known each other since childhood. Abhijeet and Shilpa also participated together in Nach Baliye Season 4 (2008-2009).
