Television actor and model Akanksha Chamola has finally addressed the controversy surrounding the viral promotional video of her web series Dil Dhokha Aur Desire, stating that she felt uncomfortable during the on-stage performance and believes her co-stars should have acted more responsibly.
The clip, which featured Akanksha dancing with her co-actors Kunwar Amar and Ali Hassan at a promotional event, quickly circulated online and sparked debate. Many viewers questioned whether the performance crossed personal boundaries. Now, Akanksha has offered her side of the story.
"I think my co-stars got a little bit too excited and then things got a little out of hand. They did not intend to do what they were doing, but I think they should have acted more responsibly. I wasn't comfortable," she said, clarifying that the moment was not entirely as it appeared in the viral clip.
According to Akanksha, the act had been pre-discussed and was meant to be a brief recreation of a promotional reel from the show. However, the live atmosphere, cheering crowd, and spontaneous energy extended the performance beyond what had originally been planned.
She further explained that her outfit limited her movements and that she was trying to stay composed despite feeling uneasy. "Just because I didn't react strongly doesn't mean I was enjoying it. I wasn't," she stated, emphasising that maintaining calm in front of a large audience was her way of handling the situation professionally.
While she clarified that she does not believe there was any malicious intent behind her co-stars' behaviour, she stressed the importance of sensitivity and awareness during public performances. "I'm not questioning their intentions, I don't believe it was planned or done with any wrong motive. But I do feel that more responsibility was needed," she added.
Akanksha's candid response highlights the significance of communication, consent, and mutual respect in live promotional settings. By speaking up, she not only addressed the speculation but also underscored the need for performers to remain mindful of boundaries, especially when the spotlight is on and cameras are rolling.
