Ashutosh Kaushik accuses fellow TV actor Amarr Upadhyay of triggering the tension which led to their recent onboard spat

Amidst all the drama over an alleged fight between TV actors Ashutosh Kaushik and Amarr Upadhyay onboard a flight, the former winner of reality show Roadies cries foul, accusing his telly colleague of initiating the verbal spat. Adhutosh was also accused by co-passengers of delaying the flight over his drunken antics.

In his defence, Ashutosh says he had greeted Amarr with a warm hello as soon as he spotted him on the flight but was offended by his cold response. He says, "Amarr and I always talk whenever we meet socially. I approached him, greeting him Ram-Ram, but he started calling me names without a reason. As far as the delay is concerned, it is the airline company to blame. They had already stared delaying their announcements. I was not responsible for that."

The actor also admitted to enjoying a drink at the airport before catching his flight but accuses the airport authorities of alleged double standards. He says, "Why do airport authorities allow liquor to be sold inside airports, charge heavy taxes on it and then don't want people to drink and board the flight? I was not dead drunk."

Ashutosh also accuses the airline authority, SpiceJet of heavy-handedness, adding they did not pay for his journey to Mumbai after forcing him to take another flight. However, a crew member of the airline says, on conditions of anonymity, "It is impossible that we will not pay for our customer's travel. Whenever such situations arise, we make sure that we give them another ticket without charging a penny." While the official spokesperson of the airline refused to speak on the matter, Amarr remained unavailable for comment.
