Aasif Khan's comments on moustaches and masculinity have sparked a reaction from Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan. The actress, who has been following the ongoing season of Bigg Boss 20, called out Aasif over his remarks during a recent task, questioning the thinking behind his statement.
The controversy began when contestants were discussing Yung DSA's decision to give everyone in his group a similar moustache style. During the task, Gullu placed a rejected stamp on Yung's face and explained that he felt Yung was behaving as if he was running the house.
Aasif later received the majority of the rejected stamps. While defending Yung on the moustache issue, he explained why facial hair was significant to him. Referring to his roots, Aasif said, "Hum naa Rajasthan se aate hain, yeh mooch humari pehchaan hai, aur muchmundo ko mardon mein consider nahi karte hum. Isliye daadi aisi hai."
The remark did not sit well with Gauahar. Reacting to the episode, she questioned why Aasif, who she acknowledged as a good actor, would choose to showcase such views on the reality show.
"Yaar I have a question, Asif ka career toh acting mein bohat accha chal raha hai naa, he shouldn't have come on the show to showcase such small thinking and really silly behaviour," she wrote.
Gauahar also commented on Aasif's reaction during another moment in the episode, when Rhiti Tiwari was seen taking digs at Uditi Singh during a task. She said she felt bad watching Aasif enjoy the situation.
Gauahar then directly addressed Aasif's statement about moustaches being a marker of masculinity. "Mard ki nishaani mooch hoti hai hahahah. Islam mein toh Musalman mard ke liye sunnah is no moonch, has he forgotten that???? Mard ki nishaani uski unchi soch aur behaviour hoti hai! Wish he knew that!" she wrote.
The comments have since added another talking point to the ongoing conversations around Aasif's conduct inside the Bigg Boss 20 house. While his statement was rooted in his personal and regional association with the moustache, Gauahar questioned the broader idea of linking facial hair with manhood.
Meanwhile, the competition continues to intensify as contestants battle for their place in the house. Yung DSA and Isha Rikhi are among those nominated for eviction this week.
With disagreements over tasks, personal beliefs and house dynamics continuing to fuel conversations, Aasif's moustache remark has now become another talking point from the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20.
