Rohit Shetty has extended his support to Salman Khan after the actor-host called out social media trolls and body-shaming during the latest Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 20. Salman's candid take on online trolling, particularly comments targeting celebrities over their appearance, has drawn support from several members of the film industry, with Rohit now joining the conversation.
On Sunday, Rohit took to Instagram to share a video from the episode in which Salman removed his shirt while addressing people who had mocked him over his changing appearance and age. Sharing the clip, the filmmaker expressed his support for the actor. "Only unconditional prem for him. Dear trollers, it's done bro," he wrote alongside the video.
Salman had addressed the issue during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode while speaking about the trolling faced by celebrities. The actor revealed that he, too, has been targeted online, with people commenting on his age, weight and appearance. At one point, he removed his hat and jacket and challenged those trolling him to continue. He also questioned the mindset behind people making money by putting others down on social media.
The actor also spoke about the intrusive nature of celebrity photography and the way paparazzi sometimes capture actresses from angles they may not be comfortable with. His comments came while discussing the larger culture of online commentary and the pressure placed on public figures.
During the episode, Salman also addressed the trolling faced by his longtime friend and former co-star Katrina Kaif following her recent public appearance after becoming a mother. Without naming her, he questioned why people were commenting on her weight after pregnancy. Salman pointed out that weight gain is a natural part of pregnancy and said that Katrina could get back in shape when she returned to films. He also stressed that she should be allowed to spend time with her family.
Rohit's message comes amid growing conversations around the treatment of celebrities on social media. Filmmaker Kunal Kohli also praised Salman for addressing trolling, paparazzi behaviour and social media etiquette. He described Salman's comments as important and said that online behaviour had fallen below basic standards of humanity.
Salman's remarks have also sparked reactions from fans online, particularly after he spoke about Katrina's post-pregnancy trolling. The episode has consequently shifted attention beyond the usual Bigg Boss house drama, with the host's comments becoming a talking point across social media.
