Dipika Kakar shares health update
Sasural Simar Ka fame actress Dipika Kakar is currently going through a tough time in her life. She was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer in May, and after a lengthy surgery, she is currently undergoing target therapy. Today (14th July) was the second day of treatment, and Dipika has shared an update. On day 1, she developed ulcers in her mouth, and now she is feeling physically weak and is unable to pick up her son, Ruhaan.
The actress started her target therapy treatment on 10th July and shared how she felt on the first two days. On the first day, she said that doctors advised her to stay hydrated, eat well, and also keep nourishing her skin because this treatment can cause ulcers in the mouth, palms, and feet, and make the skin scaly. On the second day, Dipika shared that she was feeling a little low.
She said, "It's my second day of target therapy today, and I was fine until afternoon; however, my energy levels dropped suddenly. I was only lying down the whole time." In his vlog on Sunday, Shoaib shared that on day two of her treatment, Dipika had started developing ulcers on her tongue. In her vlog, Dipika also added that she still hasn't regained the strength to lift her son in her arms again. She said, "I just want to regain so much strength now that I can lift Ruhaan in my arms once again, but I am still not able to do that. I sit with him on the floor while we play because even when I sit on a sofa, I cannot lift Ruhaan, which would need some more healing. So far, the recovery is going fine. I am trying to keep myself busy and connected with you, but I am not able to do much."
Dipika also shared an emotional video of her mother thanking fans for their prayers. For those unversed, Dipika had quit Celebrity MasterChef midway, after which scrutiny around her health began. She was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer in May, after which she underwent scans and a 14-hour surgery. She is currently taking the necessary medications and is on her road to recovery.
