Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, is no stranger to reality television. After emerging victorious in three reality shows, including Roadies and Maa Hai Na, the reality star is now ready to test himself in the Bigg Boss 20 house. Ahead of his entry, Kushal opened up about his approach to the show, whether he is inspired by former contestants and what viewers can expect from him.

Kushal Tanwar opens up about his journey with reality

Addressing comparisons with previous reality stars, Kushal made it clear that he does not believe in following anyone's path. "So, it's not like I'm following someone's footsteps. It's my own journey. And I live my own journey," he said. He added, "If someone does something first, I don't follow anyone's footsteps. I make my own."

Kushal believes Bigg Boss 20 will allow audiences to see a side of him that they may not have witnessed on his earlier shows. "In Bigg Boss, there's a lot to see. In all the reality shows you've seen, the cameras were with us for 8 hours. For the remaining 18 hours, you don't know what Gullu does or doesn't. So, you'll get to see that new thing," he explained.

The reality star also spoke about his strategy and insisted that he is not someone who believes constant fights, arguments and abusive language are necessary to create content. "People think that only fighting, arguing, swearing will win the show or the content. That's not how I am," he said.

"I like having fun more than fighting. I don't irritate anyone, but in a funny way. That's what I like," Kushal added, stressing that he wants his personality rather than unnecessary controversies to drive his journey.

He also pointed out that Bigg Boss is watched by families and therefore believes there is little need for excessive swearing. "They don't want to hear swearing. So many audiences. And this show is watched at home. There's no Gen Z audience. So, there's no need for swearing," he said.

Kushal admitted that he has not watched every previous season of the show. "I haven't seen all the previous seasons. I've only seen the real ones. But yes, it was everyone's game. Everyone was a big contestant," he said. However, he reiterated, "But I'm going to write my own. I'll show what I am."

On Salman Khan's Weekend Ka Vaar, Kushal said he is prepared for criticism. "If Salman scolds me, it's fine. I'll apologize and move on," he said. He jokingly added that getting scolded by Salman could become a weekly routine for him.

Finally, Kushal revealed one thing he plans to avoid inside the house: romance. "One thing I will never do on this show is that I don't want to love this time. I want to be single this time," he declared.
